Starwars Galactic Starcruiser

 We were fortunate enough to get tickets to board the Galactic Starcruiser this September.

Our original trip was planned for MEA weekend (Fall Break in Minnesota) and we were disappointed to find out the hotel was due to close at the end of September.  When I called to get a refund they offered me the whole trip at 50% discount so we switched to labor day weekend.

Arrival: We drove up and were checked in on IPADS; our bags were whisked away by staff and we got a welcome drink.  We then went straight to lunch and had galactic food (buffet style but delicious)


 

Rooms: The rooms had a double bed and then a set of bunk beds and a droid video chat who was interactive and a small bathroom.


The ship: We received our Galactic Starcruiser bands and used them to try to hack into the systems and solve puzzles to get access to the engineering room as well as our Data Pad app on the Disney Play App where we received communications from the captain and cruise director.  We also got to meet the captain and then stormtroopers and the first order came onto the ship

Dinner: There was a special musical performance from Gaya-- a galactic singer.  The dinner came out as a pre-fixed menu with delicacies from different planets.  Lily's favorite part was the dessert.

We had missions where we had to hide 

We had light saber training and bridge training where we learned how to fly the ship


Day 2:  We land on the planet of Batuu.  Breakfast on the ship and then we go on the transport pod to arrive on the planet of Batuu (Hollywood Studios)

We got fast passes to Rise of the Resistance and Millenium Falcon and had missions to complete on land including intercepting transmissions, scanning codes, delivering supplies, and solving puzzles.

When back on the ship the first order had taken over the ship.  We had to hide the robot and try to trap the storm troopers

Dinner at the restaurant with blue shrimp and other surprises and special drinks:

We had secret meetings Lily and I were recruited to the resistance and Joe and JJ were recruited to the first order.  We had to do missions in the equipment room and fly the ship:

Then Rey & Kylo Ren appeared and had an epic lightsaber battle.  



Chewbacca arrives and we take the ship back and have a celebration party with "fireworks"

The next day we got of the ship and went back to MN.

Overall this was the most incredible experience full of drama and fun.  We loved it so much!

We took a 6 day trip to Glacier National Park this summer and I cannot recommend it highly enough.  One of my favorite places I have ever been! OVERVIEW: I recommend going in the summer.  The temperatures were in the 70s to 80s during the day and 40s to 50s at nighttime.  You cannot even drive the going to the sun road until mid-June due to snow.  We had above normal temperatures for the first few days but it was still incredible. There are two "sides" to Glacier National Park the East Side (St. Mary) and West Side (West Glacier).  Connecting the two sides is a road called the going to the sun road and takes about 2.5 hours to drive from one side to the other.  That's why we chose to split our trip to 2 nights on the East side and 2 nights on the West side to minimize driving and experience all that Glacier has to offer. Paris Trip in April 2023

We spent Spring Break this year in Paris! It was incredible and I highly recommend as a first overseas trip for families.  We were concerned about the recent protests and strikes going on from the Pension age changing to 64 and no-confidence vote last week but everything was fine and these will likely occur for several months: DO NOT WORRY!  I found this website to be the most helpful for next Nationwide Strike days: https://worldinparis.com/transport-in-france-strike-news-tips-for-traveling-to-paris WHEN TO GO: We loved going in April because we had some sunny days in the 60s, but it did get cooler a few days and we had some wind & rain. Last summer it was in the 90's and there is no air conditioning in most buildings so I would rather wear layers (wish I had brought a winter hat though). WHAT TO BRING: We did all carry-ons. Canadian Rockies Trip

Canadian Rockies Itinerary! We traveled to the Canadian Rockies with 6 and 9 year old kids and my 80 year old parents. I highly recommend! Prior to the trip: 1) Download GyPSy App and purchase the Canadian Rockies Tour-- this will guide you on the entire trip 2) Purchase a park pass-- you want the Discovery Pass https://www.pc.gc.ca/en/voyage-travel/admission 3) I booked restaurant reservations, tea at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, boat tickets for Spirit Island at Maligne Lake, and tour tickets for hiking the Althabasca glacier ( www.icewalks.com ) Day 1: Flew to Calgary and rented a car and drove to Banff. We stayed at the Fairmont Banff club level- great service & club but very small rooms. I think you could definitely do another option if $ is an issue. We did the 5 pin bowling which was super fun (had reservations).
